More visibility for radiopharmacy in Saxony: Foundation of the Saxon Radiopharmacy Network nukliD®

On 16 January 2025, the nukliD® radiopharmacy network officially launched its collaboration. The cluster brings together Saxon partners from research, industry and cluster management in order to pool their potential and expand it together. This is an important step towards strengthening Saxony as a business location and expanding innovative strength in the field of radiopharmacy in a future-oriented manner.
Minister President Kretschmer: Saxony is a location for innovation
Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer emphasised: ‘Saxony is a top location for innovation. This also applies to the field of radiopharmacy. It is good that this special strength and expertise that has grown in the Free State is now being expanded even further with the new cluster. In fact, the growth forecasts for the radiopharmaceuticals market emphasise the enormous potential of this technology here. It is a strong signal and good for patients how all the players involved here in the Free State are working together to advance forward-looking developments.’
The HZDR is an important partner and driving force in this cluster. With its own cyclotron, it not only conducts basic medical research, but also carries out and supports radiopharmaceutical production. One major transfer success is the routine production of the radionuclide iodine-123 for ROTOPH Pharmaka GmbH, which is based on the campus.
